Job Overview Experienced and skilled Bricklayers are needed for various residential and commercial construction projects in Belgium. You will be responsible for constructing and repairing walls, partitions, arches, and other structures using bricks, stone, and blocks. Precision and the ability to read technical plans are essential for this role to ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of the build.
Key Duties Include
Laying bricks, pre-cut stone, and concrete blocks to construct walls and structures.
Mixing mortar and grout to the required consistency for different weather conditions.
Reading and interpreting building plans and architectural drawings accurately.
Detailed Responsibilities
Measure and mark the working area for layout using tapes and laser levels.
Mix cement, sand, and water to produce mortar manually or using a mixer.
Apply mortar to bricks and place them according to the specified bond pattern.
Use plumb lines, spirit levels, and mason’s lines to ensure structures are vertical and horizontal.
Cut bricks to size using hammers, chisels, or power saws for corners and intricate areas.
Repair and maintain existing brick structures and restore historical masonry.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding for working at heights safely.
Clean work surfaces and remove excess mortar before it hardens.
Requirements & skills
Proven experience as a Bricklayer with references from past projects.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
Physical strength and endurance for heavy lifting and outdoor work.
Proficiency with bricklaying tools (trowels, levels, jointers, saws).
Knowledge of construction safety practices and PPE usage.
Vocational training or apprenticeship completion is preferred.
