Job Overview We are hiring a passionate and skilled Pizza Chef (Pizzaiolo) for an authentic Italian restaurant. We pride ourselves on traditional methods and high-quality ingredients. You will handle the entire pizza-making process, from preparing the dough from scratch to baking pizzas in traditional wood-fired ovens. Key Duties Include
Preparing pizza dough, specialty sauces, and fresh toppings daily.
Baking pizzas in various types of ovens (wood-fired, gas, or electric) to perfection.
Monitoring food stock and placing orders for supplies to ensure availability.
Detailed Responsibilities
Prepare pizzas out of our menu and accommodate custom orders from guests.
Wash and chop vegetables, slice meats, and prepare cheese blends.
Monitor food stock and place orders when needed to avoid shortages.
Use traditional and modern ingredients to create high-quality dishes.
Maintain a clean cooking station and sterilize equipment daily.
Monitor the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times to prevent burning.
Plate and garnish pizzas for serving, ensuring visual appeal.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff and waitstaff to ensure timely service.
Requirements & skills
Proven work experience as a Pizza Chef or Chef de Partie in an Italian restaurant.
Hands-on experience with preparing and baking pizza doughs (sourdough/yeast).
Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and brick/stone ovens.
Understanding of food hygiene (HACCP) and safety practices.
Good time-management skills and ability to multitask.
Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings.
